The 2027 BMW i3 marks a complete reinvention of BMW’s electric strategy, developed by BMW as part of its new Neue Klasse EV platform. Unlike the original i3 hatchback, the new model is a fully electric luxury sedan positioned as the EV equivalent of the BMW 3 Series.
Built on an advanced 800-volt architecture, the 2027 i3 introduces next-generation battery and motor technology, enabling longer range, faster charging, and improved efficiency. It is expected to offer up to ~400 miles EPA range (up to ~500 miles WLTP) along with ultra-fast charging capability of up to 400 kW, allowing around 200 miles of range in about 10 minutes.
