Hyundai has revealed its new high-performance SUV named Kona N. Hyundai claimed that the Kona N would be the much sportier version of the already available Kona N Line. The brand has said that the model is going to be officially launched in 2022. Under the hood, Kona N carries a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, 8-speed DCT (Wet friction) w. Paddle Shifters & Rev Matching transmission, and front-wheel drive. The engine produces 276 hp and 289 lb-ft of torque, though an N Grin Shift mode will upgrade horsepower to 286 hp for 20 seconds. The choice of a manual transmission is not offered with this model. Inside its aggressive exterior look, Kona N holds the cabin that is shared with the regular Kona. But there are still some differences in the interior of the regular and N version of Kona. These changes include added color accents, a special shift knob, sport bucket seats, customizable N buttons on the steering a-la M3, and metal pedals in the Kona N. In N mode, the tachometer is surrounded by information like engine temperature, oil temperature, turbo pressure, and current torque being used. This vehicle will be released in four exterior color options: Sonic Blue, Lunar White, Phantom Black, and Racing Red. There are no confirmations about the fuel economy of Kona N yet. Overall, it will be a good buy for those who want a sporty SUV.
